Live painting Mason and Alex's wedding at Daniels Ridge in North Carolina was a truly magical affair taking place on none other than the 21st day of September 🎵. The stunning natural beauty of the venue, combined with the couples’ love created an unforgettable experience. To capture the essence of their special day, the couple’s best friends gifted them my live painting services, creating a unique and personalized keepsake for the couple and endless entertainment for the guests.

The Beauty of Daniels Ridge

Daniels Ridge is a breathtaking venue nestled in the North Carolina foothills. The rolling hills, lush forests, and panoramic views from their light and airy ceremony space provide a picturesque backdrop for any wedding. The couple's choice of location was perfect for a romantic and light-filled celebration.

The Live Painting Experience

I arrived about an hour before the ceremony to set up, draw some thumbnail sketches, and narrow down my ideas for the painting. Rather than picking an exact pose, Mason and I discussed several different ideas and she gave me the freedom to choose the artistic direction based on what will make the perfect painting. I took this into account while recording their ceremony and their exit. Based on what was important to Mason and the composition that it created, I chose to paint an intimate yet fleeting moment they shared during their ceremony exit as newly presented husband and wife. The painting began the moment the ceremony ended as the guests emerged to cocktail hour and immediately started observing the initial drawing. The live painting added a unique and interactive element to the celebration, as guests watched the artwork come to life and transform constantly throughout the evening.

A Personalized Keepsake

The completed painting served as a personalized and lasting memory of Mason and Alex's wedding. The artwork captured the unique atmosphere and beauty of their special day, providing a tangible reminder of the love and joy they shared with their loved ones. The thoughtfulness behind this gift from a bridesmaid and groomsman was unbelievably touching. Not only was it a common ground for guests to talk about all night, but it will live with Mason and Alex forever, an heirloom piece that can be passed down for generations to come.
