Can I Do a Live Wedding Painting and Guest Portraits in the Same Day?
The short answer; Absolutely! While it may seem like a daunting task, I have and can seamlessly combine live wedding painting and guest portraits into a single day.
Here's how it works:
Pre-Wedding Preparation: Before the wedding day, we will collaborate on creating your perfect live painting. I will ask questions to get to know you as a couple and what is important to you. This may include narrowing down an exact pose and moment that will be in the final painting.
The wedding day!! I will arrive early to setup and create a plan for the location, lighting, and pose. I may begin a bit of the background of the painting depending on the composition we choose.
First Look: I'll take my reference photos and begin painting after the first look, capturing the intimate and emotional moment as you see each other for the first time and when we aren’t rushed to get the exact shot with guests around.
Throughout the Ceremony and cocktail hour: As the day unfolds, I'll continue to paint from photos and sketches, allowing your guests to see the first layers of a stunning oil painting.
During the reception: I will make the switch to guest portraits! As guests mingle, my assistant will have been gathering guest photos during cocktail hour and we will pamper your guests with their own forever artwork! They will be blown away by first being able to watch your heirloom oil painting begin and then receiving their own special piece.
Finishing Touches: After the reception, I'll retreat to my studio to complete the final details of the wedding painting. This ensures that the artwork is a beautiful and accurate representation of your special day, the painting is not rushed but carefully executed. I will also finish any guest portraits that were not finished onsite.
By combining live painting and guest portraits in this way, I can create a unique and personalized experience for both you and your guests. So many couples have a hard time deciding between one service or the other but you don’t always have to! Another option would be to commission a full studio painting after the wedding! Either way, your wedding painting will serve as a beautiful and lasting memory of your special day, while the guest portraits offer a forever memory for your guests to save and talk about for years to come.
