Live Painting for Isabella’s Candlelight Prayer Event

A different kind of live painting…

Live Painting at Sycamore Bend

Recently, I had the privilege of being a part of a truly special event - a candlelight prayer gathering for Isabella Strahan. Held at the beautiful Sycamore Bend Venue in Wilmington, NC, the evening was filled with warmth, hope, and a powerful sense of community.

Imagine a serene setting bathed in the soft glow of countless candles. Guests gathered, offering prayers and well wishes for Isabella, a cancer patient entering her third round of chemotherapy for medulloblastoma. The air buzzed with positive energy as attendees enjoyed delicious catered food and the gentle swaying of paper lanterns flying into the night full of well-wishes. As the night deepened, a fire dancer added a mesmerizing show, further enhancing the captivating atmosphere.

Live Painting the Event

As a live wedding painter, I often use my art to capture the joy and love of celebratory occasions. But this event was a unique experience. My role was to paint a live visual representation of the evening's essence – a testament to the strength, courage, and unwavering support surrounding Isabella. The soft candlelight flickered across the canvas, and through every brushstroke, I aimed to capture the spirit of unity and prayer that filled the space. I wanted to capture Isabella with her closest support team including her mom, sister, and best friend while making the community that had her back, full of love and hope, a little more abstract. I also couldn’t help but add in their beautiful horse, Valuable. Paintings and art are are beyond special way to commiserate any memory we hold dear.

A Community of Hope

The candlelight prayer event showcased the remarkable power of a community coming together for a worthy cause. It was a heartwarming display of support for Isabella and a reminder that even in the face of challenges, hope can illuminate the path forward.
